Reviews on Samantha's Travel Outfit

I was wondering if anyone had pictures/reviews of Samantha's travel outfit?

I love Samantha's travel duster and hat! The berry color used on the hat and the parasol is one of my favorites.

I bought the travel duster shortly after it debuted, and mine fits Samantha very well. It's not as snug as the holiday coats for Sam and Nellie were. She can wear clothes underneath it ok. [img]tongue.gif[/img]

The duster itself seems to be a lightweight brushed cotton. It's very soft to the touch, but it's unlined. That's the only drawback, IMO. The buttons are just for show. Underneath are little snaps, like on the holiday dresses.

The hat is a thick, stiff felt and the ribbons are sewn on. Again, the colors of the ribbon are very pretty! The berry one is a nice gauzy-type ribbon. The little brooch thing that sets off the ribbon "flower" is not metal, but plastic that is painted to look like antiqued brass. It's also permanently attached.

The parasol is really nice! The pole feels like metal - not sure if it actually is - but the ring at the bottom is plastic. The umbrella part itself is fabric, but it feels like it'd be water resistant. Wouldn't want to try it, though!

Overall, this is one of my favorite Samantha sets. Fits a PM girl just fine!

Ack, edited again because I completely forgot about her scarf! The scarf is... not really a scarf. It's an embroidered ribbon that is wide enough to be a scarf. The back is unfinished, so you can see all the threads, but the front is just beautiful! Once you put it on underneath the duster, it looks great.

I have and really enjoy this set also. It is one of my favorites. But make sure you get the little stereoscope w/ picture cards to go with this. Such a cute accessory and very realistic detailing. I also recommend the travel Ocean Liner Adventure book. Great part of Samantha's collection!
