IF it was April 1st, I could say - good one, and laugh, a little. But I have never seen anything like this. (And I HAVE been to two county fairs and a goat F%&$)

Does anyone have any idea why this person would be asking SO MUCH money for a 7 henry choke?
Is it a scam, or a joke?
I emailed the seller a question, and he answered me seriously, like he really wants $265 grand for that thing! Is there something I dont know? Did they have special transformers that are worth this money, and I never heard about it!
C`mon Todd, you can tell us! Altec wound the windings with solid platinum wire, and the case is really 18k gold! Right?

Anyone seriously thinking this "Peerless" choke is worth even a tenth of what the seller is asking should contact me right away. I have a beautiful bridge in Brooklyn, New York that I would like to sell, cheap.
Happy New Year's to all,

The guy has a sense of humor - and it's not even W.E. Iron !
Did you also see on ebay the W.E. 597A Tweeter with a $3k bid (so far)?
--and it's not working (O.C. voice coil)!

Russelc,
It WAS $265,000 yesterday! I guess he changed it to something a little more believable. I printed it out yesterday.

one of the great uses for a transistor, even in a tube amp is as a active filtering device. add a few zenners or gas regulators and one has a well filtered, regulated supply with a fraction of the shipping weight.

Peerless made some very large windings used in the Defense Department's extreme LF radio transmitters in the 60s. They were about the size of a one ton truck. Maybe it's one of those. JIM
