I am curious about the body style difference of the dolls. Does anyone have pictures of a premattel and a mattel Doll? I am mainly looking for body style, so I guess any premattel or mattel doll will work too. I am just trying to do a little comparison on some dolls I have. My Molly that has an 86 body tag is relatively slim like the brand new Kit and Felicity we got for Christmas, while my Sam and other Molly that are premattel (they have the natural lashes and all...I have no clue where they were made...they do have natural lashes) Anyway, their bodies are somewhat ..., well, plump! I kinda was under the impression that all the premattel dolls were more plump than the new dolls, so I don't understand why the 86 body tag Molly is slim? The Sam and Molly I can date to around 96 or 95...they came with complete outfits and all tagged with made in Hungary or made in Germany. I was just curious about the history of the body style...Thanks for the help and information!!

Check out the Molly comparison photos AG Dress Designer posted for me -- I just brought it back to the front page for you.
The earliest dolls were made by Gotz and had slim bodies similar to the ones made in China now, but the torsos weren't as long. So current doll clothes will fit white-bodied dolls better than they would fit dolls made in the mid-90's. In my group, the chunkiest dolls were my 1992 Kirsten and 1993 Addy. Gina (1995 AGT) has to hold her breath to fit into current AGT clothes, even if they're stretchy!

Thank you sooo much! This answers my question totally! I don't prefer one doll over any of the others...I think they are all so beautiful. I just was curious about the body differences and why and you answered my questions! THANK YOU
I peeked at all your pictures...they are so cute. I liked your album of AGNY...I am taking my DD to Chicago this summer...CAN'T WAIT!!

Hmm...I have three white-bodied dolls and they are not slim at all - they are my chunkiest dolls. And the hip joints, where their legs attach to the body, are very wide. They can barely fit into modern doll pants at all, and on the rare occasion when I do squeeze them into a pair, they look very voluptuous in the hip area for ten year old girls.
