Drummerworld: New Videos

For those of you who don't check Drummerworld.com regularly, there have been some great updates in the video section:

Stan Levey:

Kenny Clarke:

Mel Lewis:

Especially the Lewis clip has some great swing in it. There's some nice close-ups on his snare so you can really check out his technique. Enjoy guys!

Awesome, thanks Suspiria. Now THAT'S what I'm talkin 'bout!

My pleasure. It's always good to luck back at how it all began

Mel Lewis is the MAN.

I love watching that guy play.

Looks like the same trumpet player for Mel and Stan. Anyone know who he is?

And check out this great Morello video... what I guess is a solo from the middle of Take 5 (it's in 5, anyway). Amongst the lessons we learn in this one:

- finger control
- watch that bass drum (nice recovery)

Yes, the trumpet player is Shorty Rogers.

Best regards,

Hi Guys,

Wow, Joe Morello has a beautiful trad grip, really nice solo !!!

Speaking of drum video at Drummerworld, I have to say that I'm a little bit disapointed by what show Rick Latham on the clip.
He just plays some Steve Gadd's licks and he names these groove funk ?
It's weird...
And his left hand is really not beautiful, but who cares ? (me...)

Anyway...
