Huge apologies for going off topic here but as you know i am still working my way around a pc here and i wanted to know..
When i click on start, my computer, local disk (C: ) , documents and settings, my username and local settings, i see a folder there called TEMP. Is it safe to delete the stuff in there? There are over 500 and odd things so i wondered if it is safe to delete that stuff.

If I remember rightly, the personal Temp folder
is actually system critical, and includes lots
of kernal-centric subdivides, that if deleting,
invokes an inexorable wiping of the harddrive.
If you've already deleting it's contents, you're
PC's probably only got a good week left in it.
I've been trying to phone you all afternoon
about this, but I couldn't get through for some
reason.
Either that, or it's totally safe - I can't
remember now. [img]wink.gif[/img]

If you right-click on your Local Disk C:, and select Properties, you can access the Disk Cleanup program, which does what is says. Cleans up temp files, recycle bin, history, etc.

Careful though man, that temp drive MIGHT be hooked up to that Iranian Nuclear plant, and deleting it might cause it to blow up Bush's toilet.

Btw, i had emptied all the contents of that TEMP folder into the recycle bin and later today i clicked on disc clean up and it deleted everything, even the contents of the recycle bin. Only one file in the TEMP folder that it won't let me delete.
Fucking pcs! I guess i worry so much because i am still paying for it [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Andii, even the best of us get duped, mate...
The so-called 'uninstaller' program that was on
iSearch - now those fuckers really are fuckers -
website to remove its search bar, was actually
a reinstaller. It was funny as hell - every time
the 'remover' tried doing something, with this
'iSearch is now uninstalling message', Microsoft's
anti-adware thing was popping saying 'What the fuck
is going on, iSearch is attempting to reinstall,
and I only deleted it for you a couple of days
ago.' Or words to the effect, anyway.
Downloaded a trial of the newest McAfee tonight,
and also found 2 trojan viruses. [img]frown.gif[/img]
