I picked up the Pearl Eliminator double pedal (with the belt) and used it for the first time on a gig last Saturday. This is nicest pedal that I?ve ever played on. Also, I REALLY appreciated the instructions on what to do with all of those adjustments! This is the first double pedal that I?ve played where the two beaters straddle the center line of the kick head. This makes so much sense and I was pleasantly surprised at how the sound of my kick actually improved with this configuration. I used the blue cam on the gig.

I've owned a chain driven double for a while. Although it took me like a month to tweak it to sweetness. I've heard a lot of people talk crap about this pedal, and none off them realize it's any pedal you want it to be.

Everyone i have seen uses that blue cam, myself included. I tried replacing the double-chain with the strap... stripped the damn screw [img]mad.gif[/img]
I didn't know that you had to heat it up with a hair-dryer first, to get the locking-glue soft. So all you out there... heat it up first! I didn't [img]graemlins/cry.gif[/img]

You really owe it to yourselves to
try the new, Purple Cam. I used to
use the blue one but have switched.
I think you will experience why I
did, if you do.

PS: If you have not tried it, set
your Power-Shifter all the way in,
towards the kick. In other words,
the heel of the pedal is shifted
forward. Tell me if you feel a dif-
ference.

Thanks for the heating tip matricks (I didn't know that). Pete, I'll try moving the board in and check it out. There are so many combinations with this thing. But just setting this up to the normal/neutral settings with the blue cam already enabled me to pull off my kick chops with ease.
Do you know what pedals the yellow and purple cams are modeled after?

I just got the purples -- thanks to Pete's suggestion earlier.
Got them from Midwest Percussion -- it took forever, but it wasn't their fault. They kept waiting for them from Pearl. Finally, they just had Pearl drop ship them to me.
Anyway, fantastic. Playing like a kid again. -- ok maybe a kid who has problems with double bass, [img]biggrin.gif[/img]
Love the pedals, and love the purple.
