hanoi, No doubt about it
Plimsouls all the time, wel lunless a cover version pops in my head
Hanoi... Every time.
HANOI ROCKS!!!!
Stiv Bators and Hanoi Rocks... Of the 2 I preffer Stiv Bators, even if they're both fantastic songs
Well, the Hanoi song is quite legendary.
Especially the version from Europe-A-Go-Go.
Always thought the "Million Miles Away" (totally different song) from Michael Monroe's solo album "Nights Are So Long" was pretty underratted myself. Nice guitars and a real hook of a melody all the way through
The one from Mike's solo album is a cover of the Stiv Bators song... but you probably knew that
It is? Cheers for that!
Been meaning to check out Stiv's solo stuff for ages.
Liked what he did with the Dead Boys and heard a lot of cover versions of his solo stuff too.
"Disconnected" is on the shopping list then!!
Glad I could be of help:-) I also quite like both the Dead Boys and Lords Of The New Church. The Wanderers I think sound a bit dated now, but of all the stuff Stiv did my favourite is really his solo stuff.
Disconnected is the only real album he released, but since then there have been many compilations of his singles and EPs which are well worth checking out too. A few years ago his last album was released too... can't remember the title now, but that is not so cool. I think I only liked Poison Heart (the one Ramones covered later) and Magic on that one.
I think many Glitziners would like Disconneted. It's not exactly bubblegum glam, but not that far from it either. Good melodies and great rock songs all the way through.
