I've long admired Carlos Vega's playing but I don't know a lot about him. Is there a wealth of info available anywhere? Any interviews anywhere on the web? Had any of you met him? Are there many videos available with him? The only thing I have is a GRP video from around 1985.
Thanks in advance!

Hey MK,
Carlos is great! Seek out the Burning Water stuff and the Karizma stuff. There are some great DVD's too. There are a couple of James Taylor DVD's and a couple of Lee Ritenour's as well. Anything with Los is cool. Randy knew Carlos so I bet he will weigh in with some info too.
Peace,
CB

well, there are not a whole lot of videos featuring Carlos on them unfortunetly and there are not that many articles either, there is a piece I wrote back when he passed away which was on Landaus site and I think a few other sites might still have it sround if you do a search.
As to exact videos, James Taylors Squibnocket is a great choice, only available at the moment on VHS, DVDs available are the Lee Ritneour RIT Live Special

There's the GRP live in session dvds,

There is some boot video floating around of Burning Water which was the band he and Landau started, very kewl stuff. Highly recomend those 3 cds, self titled, Abandonado and Mood Elevator, there is a 4th cd, Live and Lit, but it's mostly unmixed boot stuff that Landau released more to get a label off their back.
Like CB said, the Karizma stuff like Cuba, Foreever in the Arms Of Love and the Live Karizma are great.
Also, a very hard to find cd by Matt Rollings (country producer/piano/key player, played with Lyle Lovett for many years) called Balconies is a must have.
Any of the few Vince Gill cds Los did are great too.
here's a few interesting hard to find cds;

and I found the piece I wrote as scattered as it may be, since I wrote this when he died.

They seemed to have it cut it abit, for when it was originally posted for Landaus website, the discography was much larger.
