Kailey arrived today.Her seller had not mentioned the ink on her hand (or the pencil on her face...) Other than that, she is like new.(The pencil wiped right off)
I know I may be picky, but I want Kailey to be perfect.I am considering sending her in to have her arm replaced with an ink-free one.
I do not care to try to remove the ink myself, as it looks as if someone already tried, leaving her vinyl semi-scuffed looking in that area.I MAY try oxy 10, until I can afford to send her in.
Here are my questions...
Will the vinyl of her new arm match her EXACTLY?? I mean EXACTLY, EXACTLY?
Will they let me keep the old arm, if I request it? (I know, I am weird.)
Would they rebraid her hair for me if I request it? Her original braids were taken out.I know I can do this myself, I am just wondering.
How long does a limb replacement ususally take?
*Sniff* I am sure my Mom's bid would have been a little lower if we had known about the ink.I hesitate to even mention it to her, the seller was so nice to work with.
Ahhh... love and learn, right?

First of all, please do mention it to the seller. As a seller I always want to know if I missed something.
Second. Send a note with the package requesting that the limbs exactly match the existing ones. If you hate it when it comes back they usually save the old one anyhow.
Third- I doubt they would send the old one back
Fourth- ask if they could rebraid the hair. They probably will.
Fifth- three weeks (aka forever) is the standard hospital stay.

I sent my Addy in recently and I sent her with a little note. I told the doctors at the doll hospital that I wanted her to be back to "as close to original condition" as I could get her. They matched everything perfectly and put her hair back in its original style, including hair net. I could not have been happier with my doll hospital experience. If you want her back quicker, you send her in overnight, and they usually fix them within three days or so. The longest part of the wait is shipping. Good luck and let us know how she turns out!

This is all really good to know.The ink stain is not HUGE, and I would like to have the arm back incase the new one is not a perfect match, or in the event that something worse happens to the new arm in the future, or maybe even for a totally different doll, if I found one in need of an arm.
I hate to send her away so soon after she has arrived, and I am worried that she will get lost in the mail too.
Will they return her in a doll box? I will be mailing her in a regular box.
I am going to miss her.

She will come back in a doll hospital box with a hospital gown, admitting bracelet and balloon as well as a certificate of good health. It is quite cute.
I agree. Amputate her arm and send her in with a surfing injury. [img]wink.gif[/img]

It's really not hard to get stains out of the vinyl using Oxy-10 (or Twin Pines Remove-Zit). I don't understand why you want to spend the money to get a new arm for her, unless the abrasions from the last attempt are too noticeable.

Ok, Well, I have got the ink it's self off.
Now, all that remains is the texture from the last attempt,which I have somewhat smoother now, but it seems the vinyl is more shiney there too now.And two fairly substancial gouges in the vinyl from the pen.
I am trying to decide if I can live with her like this.I am probably the only person who can see those gouges now anyhow, lol.Maybe I can post pics later.Somehow I would just feel better not mailing her off, but at the same time, I want her to be as perfect as she can be.

I know what you mean, but keep in mind that you can send her off at any time for a new arm. Live with her for awhile and maybe you will think of it as a birthmark or something.
