It's promotional if there's something to promote -
i.e., a new demo, a gig etc. If it's just about
someone's favourite colour, their pet cat, their
hates etc., then it's a narcissistic cult of per-
sonality farce. Self-empowering, but actually,
quite pointless. Bless 'em.

I've found it great for exactly that D. Promoting for shows, CD's etc. It's also allowed me to get back in touch with some bands/musicians I lost touch with over the years. Also I've had quite a few old fans, particularly from the UK and Texas of all places, who have msg'd us and didn't know we were back together and doing a new CD.

So for us it's a great communication vehicle.

Indeed. Myspace - its popularity at least - is
great in that respect. Haven't we become fed up,
though, of (non-)personality websites? People
should feel free to use the Web any way they want.
But is knowing someone's starsign, their pseudo-
Friends list (friends they'll never meet, ever
- especially Taime Downe [img]wink.gif[/img] ), their favourite
colour, etc. really worth the effort of putting it
online in the first place? I guess I'm wrong
(because myspace.com is as popular as ever), but
I hope not.
