Well, Smokenangel and I went out to see The Creeps and SWILL play this last Friday. It was an AMAZING show and the place was pretty damn PACKED! Considering the venue and it's location here in Kansas City, it could have been a sparsely attended show, but WASN'T! The Creeps have really expanded their fan base here.Both bands put on an AMAZING show.
Swill was first (check out www.swillville.com)playing their quality hard hitting industrial music with an equally heavy amount of glitter, confetti and toilet paper spread across the crowd during the set. the floor was just a MESS, gotta love it!
The creeps hit the stage for well over an hour and then some. This extended set really brought out the greatness of this band. they were able to play a bunch of the older material as well as new tunes. they played their usual covers of "live wire" and "turning japanese" (which appears on the new CD). Traci is as SOLID a drummer as he always has been, Eddie was in fine form and Macy is crazy as always (though LIGHT YEARS from traci!) and Robbi is the injection of energetic (not to mention Psychotically driven to makeup) youth this band really can use!
There was definitely an EXHAUSTED crowd when it was all said and done. You had to be there to really know how great this show was.
Traci, Erickk and I spent a lot of time just hanging out and reminiscing about the "raisin farm" and tours past.
A really great night!
