Am very sad to be the bearer of these extremely sad news, but Geoff Star has died. For those who didn't know Geoff,32,he was a very well known figure in the London/Uk glam scene, guy in leather trousers and Michael Monroe hairstyle, and a vocalist in many glam/rock bands (for example Sonic Boom Boys). The funeral is on Thursday, but it's for family and closest friends. However, there will be a tribute gig soon, and also a get-together for all of Geoff's friends to be organised soon.Oh,how we will miss him.

Didn't know the guy, but still very sad news.

Tragic news. He was well known around London, and his band supported Robin Black on their UK tour in the summer of 2003.
I know he spent some time in Thailand over the past 6 months, after experiencing the tsunami horror first hand in Phuket on Boxing Day. He went back a few times to help out.
Do you know how he died, Kira?

Blimey, He was in Thailand, the same time as we were there then! We were no where near Phuket though. We were up in Bangkok from Xmas eve to beginning of Feb.

I CAN'T BELIEVE WHAT I'M READING. I have been kept in touch with Geoff during some months, he's (or,shit, now I have to say "he WAS")a really nice person and he really loved rock n' roll... I haven't had news from him since last winter more or less but I thought he was busy with his own band. I don't know what to say. All this is really sad. He gave me as present their last two Cd's, it will be very hard to listen to them again...
Here you have the article that I wrote about Geoff Starr a few months ago, it was an honour. Only the good die young...

Kira, if you hear when the tribute gig/get-together is, could you let me know please?
I'm sure a lot of the London crowd would make the effort to be there.

Yup, he was interviewed by a reporter, while people were scouring the pinned-up lists, trying to find their loved ones.
The report was on the BBC News.
