Engine Swap shops

I picked up a 93 Del Sol S last year pretty cheap, but that 1.5 is a little lacking in the fun drive department. Me being pretty intimidated by a job that size, I have no issue with sending it out somewhere to have the work done. Only thing is I dont know where to even start looking up here for someone that wont be completely shady and try to rip me off. I live in Silverdale, but will take it pretty much anywhere to get a new motor, and downtime isnt an issue since its not my only vehicle. Anyone know where I might find a place that could do a full swap, engine, tranny, clutch, ECU and most likely a new set of tougher axles? Ive been looking at the B16 swaps and it looks like the best way to go. Simple, efficient and tons of possibilities.

There are a few places that i know of that can take care of this for you. On Auburn way N in Auburn there is a place called Pit stop performance. And on Pacific Hwy in Federal Way there is a place called Xtreme Auto Salon. The best place is called Infinite Velocity, but they are in the middle of relocating. But in my opinion a month or two to wait for them to get up and running is well worth it. Ket, the guy whou owns and runs it is a great guy and beats everybody's price by a long shot. Also I believe Initech in Kent is well known. I dont have any phone numbers, but i know that Xtreme auto has a website at xtremeautosalon.com Others you will have to look up in the phone book. for your engine and supplier you might want to try Hmotorsonline.com They have complete swap setups and such. Hope that helps you out.

Have you bought the new engine or were you going for a package deal from one of these places?

i am from the silverdale area also (poulsbo) but i would say pitstop would be the best bet they specilize in honda performance and they did great work on my friends cars i might be able to get you a discount or somthing there also but no promisses

ya, maybe its intech, i cant remember. Ive only been there once with a buddy getting info on an sr20det swap for his 240sx, and he got his hondata dyno tuned on his 99 SI turbo. They are good but pricy. And on Pit stop, I was just there last week checking on turbo kit installation on my del Sol and they wanted $600 to do it. That is gouging my friend. Infinite Velocity quoted me $250, and that included custom intercooler piping. I dont want to know how much Pit stop would have upped the charge for that. If you plan on doing a B16 swap, make sure that they charge around $500-700, everything above that is a rip off. I forgot about Fast Lane in Tacoma too. I had them install my UR crank pulley on my last Sol. Good guys up there, of course that was about 4 years ago.

Was plannin on doin the package thing, little less hassle that trying to research and find the engine and stuff myself. Just really getting started, the Del Sol will be my first modded car. Thanks for all the replys, guess I got a few phone calls to make tomorrow morning!

its Intec and they have been assholes to me before, but they build some fast hondas and are a featured shop up here in the pac northwest

Called Axiom today, quote was 3800 for everything...seems a bit high to me, or does that sound about right??
