Wow, between the stuff I got from Little Devil and Peeker yesterday, and what just arrived today, this is turning out to be the best week EVER!
Today I got one of my Godzilla grails. The Tokyo Marui, radio controlled Godzilla. This is one of, if not the, greatest Godzilla toys ever, and I will tell you why!
This baby is huge, he stands 20" tall, and about 36" long from head to tail. It is basically a robot skeleton with a latex Godzilla suit over it. He walks forward, and his arms move while doing so, he turns left and right, his tail swings, his head turns from side to side, he roars, and when he does his mouth opens. You can do multiple movements at the same time.
I have been after one of these since they came out about 6 years ago. The reason it has taken so long, is that these sold, and still sell, for $500.00 plus.
I saw this one on eBay, and the guy was asking a $225.00 minimum bid. That's a damn good price, and I would have bid on it, but in the description it said that it's legs didn't move. So I passed on the auction, and Godzilla didn't sell. Well, the guy relisted it, with a $175.00 minimum bid. So I E-Mailed him and asked if he would let it go for $150.00 shipped, since I didn't think he was going to get what he wanted since it wasn't in working order. He replied saying he would let it go for $175.00 shipped. I jumped at this offer, thinking that I may be able to fix it. I figured as long as it wasn't a burnt out motor, and there were no broken parts (which he said there weren't) it could be an easy fix.
Easy fix indeed! I get the big G, pull the skeleton out of the skin, take a look, and OMG, all that was wrong is that some of the foam he came with (to stuff the suit, and fill out the body) was caught up in one of the leg joints and twisted up in it. I dug out the foam, and BAM, fully functional!!!
So there is the story on how I got a $500.00 + toy for $175.00! HELL YES!!!!!!

They made a '55 version too, but I like this version better. Looks nice and mean. They also made a Mothra larva, and the cool thing about that one, is it shoots silly string from it's mouth.
