I might be getting Elizabeth but I am concerned about how much taller she might be than Lissie. I am also afraid I might not like her as much. Is there a signifigant height difference? and are the new dolls just as nice as the old ones???

You can see the height difference in the photo under my signature. She is a very pretty doll. I don't like her meet dress though. I took it off of her immediately. I like her better in blue. The red head doll is a Felicity and the black hair doll is a molly. I have changed their wigs.

I wish Maria had one of her comparison pictures for the old and new AGs. Having the two standing side by each buck nekkid for front and side views really does show up the differences.
If any of you have an old and a new, I am certain Maria would be interested in posting your comparison pictures on her AG doll page. If the neck on the new doll is longer or there are different marks on the back of their necks, closer comparison pictures of those, once again side by each would be very helpful.

I've mentioned this before, but ALL dolls with the Josefina mold are taller. Their necks are significantly longer.

I'm not sure when the change happened. I have a Josefina I got last year and she is the same height as the rest of our American Girl dolls so if they changed the neck height, they did after last spring. I got Marisol in January and she is also 1/2" taller. Elizabeth just arrived yesterday and she is a good 1/2" taller than the rest. I wasn't going to have her be Elizabeth anyway so it isn't a problem.

I was just going to say (and I guess I will), that it looks like the neck is longer, not the body. So all clothes should fit just fine.
Edited to say that personally, I like the longer neck. It looks more natural. As does the Josefina mold in general, it has more definition than the other traditional mold.
