AG Hospital called me today regarding one of the dolls I checked in at AGPC August 13th.
Cythnia Diane was my first Ebay purchase and the only Ebay purchase that came really "messed up". I put her in the hospital as she was so wiggly she could hardly sit up alone.
The seller had also re-wigged her with a wig that was too small. The first time I brushed her hair the wig literally came off with the bush.
Anyway... AG Hospital wanted to know if I wanted tp put a new head on her as they do not re-wig. I had told them at AGPC not to put on a new head as she would not feel the same. Even with all her imperfections, I had bonded to her.
Now , Im not sure, I would really like her have a nice set of hair, but another head??
I feel like I would be "stabbing her in the back", if I got another head. What should I do?

I really wish AG would do wig replacements! But, personally, I don't think I could give the go-ahead for head transplant for one of my own. She just wouldn't be the same doll!

Hi i just had the same promblem just get a new wig that is what i did if nothing is wrong with her head , i sort of feel mean and sad about the thought of just getting a new head.like it would be betraying her. Diane

You could rewig her for a decent amount of money.
A new head is half the price of a new doll.
I'd just have them not put on a new head, and then just look for a wig yourself. Then you can give her any kind of hair you want... not just traditional AG hair.

Is Cynthia Diane Pre-Mattel? If she is, and you have bonded to her, you might rather just re-wig her yourself. Fairly inexpensive doll wigs are available online (ask kitschywoman), and then you wouldn't have any regrets later. AG dolls usually take a size 11.5 wig; and if you change your mind later, you can always send her back to the AG hospital.
If she's Mattel, and has any other problems involving her head or face, she might rather have the head "transplant" and be done with it.
Remember that she knows you want the best for her, and will be happy with whatever decision you make. Good luck!

I got a head replacement for my Samantha back in 1998, before I put my dolls away for a few years. I'm still very glad I did, her hair wasn't in the best of condition, even though I was very careful with it.
It doesn't sound like you really want to get the doll a new head. If you can find a wig you like for her, you can rewig her yourself! I think, depending on which doll it is, you could probably find a wig that was very similar to the one she had originally, or perhaps a totally different one you like, and give her an all new look.
If you want a doll that's ALL AG, go for the new head, she'll come back beautiful.

Thanks for your input. I feel so much better. I did tell them to leave her head alone and do a well visit and I will leave it at that.
I will go online and get her a wig. I had Super glued the current wig back on when it came off and it stays. Thanks so much!

My Lindsey got a new head, and it's FABULOUS. I feel more affection for her now than I ever did.
But, my eBay AGoT #7's hair is not in great shape. If I ever decide to do something about it, I'll rewig. She's PM, and no #7 PM heads are left.
So... I agree: if PM, rewig. We can help you; it's easy! If Mattel, go for the new head!

This may sound crazy because as much as I have heard this discussed here....I do not know the difference between PM or Post Mattel; how do you tell? Don't jump on me all at once....

PM have softer eyelashes.
I was told all of them do, but I have a PM AGoT and her eyelashes are not as soft as my 3 oldest PM historicals, so I'm not sure how valid that is.
