career change

If you have changed careers later in life, what did you do and what do you do now.

If you were a teacher, what did you transition to? I feel stuck just b/c teaching is all I've ever done, but I hate how it is trending. I'm in K and the curriculum standards are insane. Who cares if kids can get along or solve a problem, we need them to read the third month of K.....nevermind many coming in not knowing A letter or letter sound. It's honestly just wild and I'm tired of the behaviour which is likely a result of having to sit and do all day....literally all freaking day. I'm in an assitant role now, and while it's less stressful than a teacher overall, the daily mental load is still a lot and you don't make any money whatsoever. I took this role to see if I wanted to go back as lead and I really don't. I also, don't see the point of doing what I'm doing when I can make double if I did lead, ya know. Anyways, just torn.
