My daughter does nothing but talk about American Girls dolls and all the cute clothes, etc. I remember them from when I was young but I know nothing about them or how to tell if an item I'm buying for a doll is the real deal or if that even matters as far as functionality. Also what are the abbreviations everyone is using (AGOT, etc.)? Please forgive my lack of knowledge...I just want to be sure that if I'm going to invest that much money in a doll (judging from prices I've seen on eBay because the American Girls shopping website is down) I want to be sure I'm getting the right thing!
