Guitar help wanted

Hey there! I just started playing guitar a few months ago, so my knowledge on guitars is very very little. So i need your help!

I want to buy this guitar:

It's a brand i've never heard of and i can't find any information on the internet. I only know this is a guitar from 1959. Can anyone of you, just by the look of it give their opinion...i'm about to pay $40 for it...what do you think? I think it just looks pretty 'fifties' which is awesome!!!

It doesnt look very playable to me. Cool to look at, but for $40 dont expect much. If this is from 1959, and its only $40, then there is something your not telling us. If you are serious about this, invest a little more than $40 into the guitar you are going to learn on. You get what you pay for and if the guitar just isnt very playable, then you will lose interest.

Go to wal mart or thrift store and get a cheapy.Good songs come from the heart, not the guitar.You are welcome to quote that.

thats true but i bought a cheapy and it sounds like shit so no matter how good your songs are it sounds horrible so needless to say i bought a new guitar

I bought a cheapy one time.Got pissed off and smashed it.Not very hard, but it put a crack all along the bottom edge.I put tape over it.It sounded like it was on fire.Best guitar I ever had.It had a street fighting man sound, but way more violent.Unfortunately it got smashed again.

I got a gothic sg,and a mex strat.The sg for playing ability is insane.If your playing really bluesy stuff.The strat sounds even more bluesy,but there is something about a gibson neck.I want to get another spanish acoustic/electric.As far as playing ability goes.Them spanish motherfuckers got us beat.I've almost got the tremelo down.If anyone here knows about guitars, they know the tremelo is a motherfucker.

I will be honest with you guitar players.The tremelo must be played in almost a zen state or else it won't work.Trust me I know.

You know its kinda funny.Like Mike Ness says.Alot of them spanish players can't play the blues.I guess its all an enigma.I better stop posting or KOF is gonna cut me off.What does that mean kentucky fried chicken.A little laughter never hurt anyone.Peace.

I feel like I'm in a box or toys.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial">When it comes to finding a good player, I'd suggest you pass this one on...I'd bet money that playability is hell.
Get a Takamine, Yamaha or Ibanez Acoustic...they are fairly cheap and nice. Workmanship is good and they sound ok. If you got a little more money check out a used Taylor...the neck is really slim and I've not come across one bad sounding Taylor guitar.
When it comes to electric guitars, them Mexican made Fender Telecasters & Stratocasters are really nice and you'll get lots of bang for the buck.
If you want something to hang on the wall, go for this...looks cool and authentic to me. Most definately not a guitar that will increase in value judging by the cheap ass bridge and tailpiece.
