Today, when I replied via email to someone who was forgiving me for the umpteenth month in a row for being late on my radiation swipes, I said, "you did a GREAT job in your presentation yesterday" and I got an incredibly appreciative response about how she had trouble presenting before audiences and it was so hard for her.
I knew that. From her presentation, it was clear that she had stage fright. But she did it, and I knew it was hard for her.
Heh. Heh. I have earned 12 more months of forgiveness for my tardiness in submitting radiation swipe results.
Okay, reserve me a seat on the bus to Hell for recognizing someone's weakness and giving them a boost on it for my own personal laxness.
I encourage you all to send a message to someone today who did something good.
A couple of years ago I sent an email, took me a couple of minutes, to the boss of a service person saying they did something extraordinary and good. To this day, I receive REALLY REALLY great responsiveness and service from this person.
You get an extraordinary payback from the public and sometimes to-the-boss appreciation of others. It is the best thing I have found. Very little cost, amazing results.
I recommend it highly, and I challenge you all to give unsolicited positive feedback to someone this week.
