I know swimming is not among the most popular sports that girls do, but its the last, mainstream, sport AGT has yet to cover. I think Isabel (Marisol) has warmed me over to the modern line and with the addition of the beautiful AGT25, I dont think its a phase that will pass LOL
I would snatch a swimmers set up so fast. And they have such cute options. A bathing suit with a fleece warm up jacket and nylon pants and the accessories would be goggles, fins (yes you use these in practice although most people call them 'flippers') a duffle bag and a water bottle. It would be a great set to add in the summer. Even though it is a fall sport. I would really love to see thins because I swam through most of middle school and high school and loved it. It was actually my favorite part of the my first high school. The fact that we never lost a meet probably helped My junior year we went down as the best team in the schools history, but now Im bragging..sorry
Anyway, I really want to see this. Theyve made like two versions of softball, tennis and soccer outfits, I think they can muster up one swimming set

There is an old one, it's mostly hot pink. It was cute, there were some shorts with it. There was a duffle bag with pretty much everything you named, I can't remember if that came with the outfit, or if it was an add on accessory set. I think it's from '98.
Personally, I don't like the way the swim suits and ballet/gymnast leotards look on the AGs. Their legs are not made to be shown like that, lol.

Actually, I just went and looked at Curt's site, I'd forgotten the first Swimsuit.
So, there have been two!, and the ruffled tankini, which is much more cutesy swim than swim team.
http://curtdanhauser.com/AG_Collecti...y_Retired.html
The first one is in 1996, it's black with some squiggly stripes, and it comes with flippers, a snorkel/mask, and a towel.
The second, the one I was talking about in my other post, came out in 1998, and is neon yellow, orange, and pink. I don't see the accessories here, so it must have been sold separately. It's down at the bottom, under Beach Accessories I in the accessories.
And then the Tankini set that came out in 2002, with the purple tank and printed sarong. There's an accessory set for that one, too, but it looks more like cutesy-fun stuff.
So there are a number of swimming sets out there. From what you described, I think the second one, and it's accessory set would be the best for what you want. So, there's actually been more swimming outfits than Tennis (which I'd like to see more of, as that's what I play now, and played in High school), or softball.
Good luck finding one on ebay if you decide to,

Darn you Cami! I think we were trying to post at the same time and mine didnt make it through. I got booted and said the page couldnt be displayed. LOL, Oh well This is what I was trying to say though:
I know there have been a number of 'recreational' swimming outfits, but none of them appeal to me because they are nothing like what you have when you do it competitively. I actually went and checked out the site myself after posting. One thing I forgot to mention is the today with swim teams most girls wear what are called 'leg suits' because it helps you swim faster. The top part of the suit is normal, but it continues down through the body and covers the thighs all the way down the knees. Almost like spandex capris. As for the accessories, well, the goggles used in swimming are the much smaller sport kind and the flippers the flexilble rubber kind, not the cheap hard plastic that most kids play with. Not to mention every swimmers favorite piece accessory is a fleece warm up jacket to keep you warm and loose in between races, not a big fluffy towel.
Would that kind of a set be popular? No unfortunately it probably wouldnt be. Most girls would rather see the fun suits. Oh well, its still something Id love to see eventually.
I agree with you though that I want to see more softball stuff. I played that for 8 years before high school and still miss it sometimes. I really would like to get the one they retired awhile back because it reminded me most of what I wore. But then, I never played for a school so our uniforms were really nothing more than athletic shorts and a T-shirt with your sponsers name printed on it. Ah, the good ole days

I imagine if they released it at the next summer Olympics (could you wait that long!) it would sell well. Not sure about the longer leg suits, I think they probably wouldn't make them with those, (although it would look MUCH better on the dolls!), I just don't know if even the swimming teams for little girls would have them, (maybe you know?), and even if they did, I think most people who didn't get it would find it "different."
The jacket is a definite "need," that's for sure. They've got one with the Gymnast sets, so I don't know why they wouldn't make one for a swimming set.
I also think the goggles in the sets are odd! I don't know why they didn't make the smaller ones, I know I've always used the speedo brand ones, the small ones, I think most little kids probably use those. Or at least, me and all my friends did.
Is there a certain color you'd like to see? I think the red-white-blue would probably be what they'd use, (which would be *fine* by me, as those were my high school, and middle school, and my university's colors, lol). I'd also like to see a tennis set in red-white-blue, I'd find that to be the best thing *ever*.

I love the idea of a swim team uniform. DH swam when he was young and we thought about DD doing it last summer but the timing was wrong with out vacation. I hope they do more Olympic stuff too.

A swim set would be fabulous - I would buy one in a hearbeat if it were competitive themed. I think they need to partner with the USOC and USA Swimming to design AG-size replicas. The could do the suit, goggles, cap, towel, warm-up suit, a little stopwatch, a gold medal and a little American flag to wave when they play the national anthem.
