Does anyone know the correct way to tie a pair of Irish step dance shoes? I just received Nellie's today in the mail and after wrapping the string around her ankles a few times, I decided to just tie them in a double knot and try to tuck the ends into her shoes. A bow just didn't seem to look right.
What do real life dancers do when tying their shoes?

You tie the gillies around the lower portion of the dolls ankle

Teehee, I'm on the Irish dance club team at my college and I *still* tie my shoes incorrectly just because I like the way it looks.
As for the correct way, FelinaDoon says it perfectly, but here's a picture of real shoes just for reference:

Good luck!

Ah, ok. Tied with a knot in the front? That's what it looks like in the pic. Yanno, this seems like information AG could have included with the outfit, instead of the "trading card" stuff! Or at least, in addition to it.
Thanks for all your expertise. I think there were people on another topic trying to figure out how to tie Marisol's ballet shoes.

Does it wrap around the sole once too? That's how DD was taught to tie her soccer shoes. She took Irish Step Dancing one summer but wasn't required to get the shoes. She loves Nellie's dress. Marlo usually wears it.

OH! Aug of 2004 there were step dancers that preformed at the National Barbie Convention in Boston.. I must admit that was the 1st time I had ever seen them dance.. I was in awe of what these young girls can do and how HIGH They can jump!!! I know some of you ladies have daughters here that dance and live in Chicago.. were any of them, by chance at the convention to dance?????
