When my large/single thermowell pot is in the thermowell, the insulated stovetop thermowell lid does not sit snuggly down into it's hole. The handle of the pot is just a smidgen too high.
Anyone else have this problem? Or is it a problem (I haven't yet tried cooking in the thermowell)?
My large pot is a Mirro and looks a lot like the current one on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/LARGE-THERMOWELL...QcmdZViewItem. But my handles fold over the top of the pot lid.
Also, my three pot set (even though I still only have 2 of 3) does not fit inside the large pot like this one on ebay. They are a bit shorter than the large pot though, so the insulated stoptop lid fits into the hole nicely when they are in there. They don't have black knobs on the lid like my large pot and the one's on ebay. They have metal clips that latch the lid on.
I have noticed several different styles of thermowell pots on ebay. Anyone know what's up with that?

A friend of mine has the exact same setup now up for auction on Ebay. This seems to be an aftermarket item intended to allow one to simmer soup or whatever without the hassle of the thermowell lid. I speculate that the three pots with black knob handles were intended to be set in the large Mirro pot surrounded by water to "par-boil" food? This is all guesswork. Would love to know if Todd or Sam have any knowlege of this stuff.
