I am a newbie, and have posted just once when I was trying to familarize myself with AG, and as people said, it's addicting!!! I've found myself on the website picking out dd's Christmas, Birthday, and other gifts. lol
Dd is getting the spotlight outfit, Coconut, sightseeing outfit, and marisol's bag and cat from her grandma.
I *think* I have narrowed it down to these for her Christmas gift. I need opinions.
Kit doll and paperback book
Kit's Winter Coat (don't want her to freeze!)
Kit's pajamas
Kit's Birthday Dress and Headband
Kit's School Outfit
Coconut's Dog House
Grace the Bassett Hound (because Kit needs her friend, and Coconut needs a doggie friend)
The only other thing I am tempted to buy is a winter coat (any recommendations?) for Marisol (dd's first and currently only AG). Well, I'm tempted to buy a lot more, but I'm on a budget, and I want to get dd a few other items that aren't AG....gasp!
I am going to wait and see if I shall be so lucky for a code to come with the Felicity movie before I place my order, otherwise, I hope the 10% still works. Any tips on ordering so close to Christmas? Any other thoughts?
I decided to buy a hairbrush too, and on the matter of a bed, we are going to make a temporary one out of a bookcase. We figure we will need two beds by this time next year as dd is already $20 into saving for her next doll....she doesn't think there is even a chance to get Kit, but we are going to have some extra money due to an refund we didn't think we'd get. I can't wait to see her face on Christmas morning!!!

Your list sounds great.
My advice to you is to order as soon as you can. Last year the back orders were horrendous, and many people didn't get what they wanted.

My dd is getting Kit for Christmas as well. It will be her 1st AG. Your list looks great, but might I suggest you get the Christmas dress and save the Birthday one for your dd's Bday? Just a thought! My dd is getting the Christmas outfit & it is just adorable. There's another mom around here (her name escapes me at the moment) that is giving her dd Kit for Christmas too. There will be sooo many happy girls with freckled face dolls Christmas morning [img]biggrin.gif[/img]
I recommend you order as soon as you finalize your list. You never know what will sell out. They do monthly specials on AG, so something you want *might* be on sale if you wait til' Thursday. I can't say whether it's worth the wait or not though. Let us know what you get!

Welcome to the board! Your list sounds great. Get Marisol's bag for sure, and quickly! I think Kit would be a great addition! She is very cute and I think a lot of her stuff is reasonably priced, and often cheaper than other girls' collections. I would get Gracie, too, but I am partial to pets!

Your list looks great. I like the idea of the Christmas dress too. My niece has Kit and she is a cutie! If you decide to order sooner use the 10% off code. It may save you alnost as much on a big order. Last year DD got the Snowboarding Outfit. It would be a great winter coat for Marisol. Good Luck - I hope you get everything you want for your DD.

DD got Kit for Christmas two years ago when they had a special deal going. She got the Christmas dress in the holiday package they offered, so I too would say change the birthday dress to the Christmas one. She looks really cute with the wool jacket and beret over her Christmas outfit.
The rest of the list looks great! The snowboarding jacket is a good choice for Marisol's winter coat. [img]graemlins/thumbs_up.gif[/img]

Welcome to the board! Kit is our favorite too, and I'm sure you daughter will love her.
The only thing from your list that I would change is Grace, the basset hound. To be honest, I don't think she's worth the money. I bought ours last winter with the code, but if I'd paid full price, I wouldn't have felt it was worth it. For a couple of dollars more, I would recommend getting the typewritter set. It's so well made and comes with really cute accessories. It's gotten lots of play time at our house (unlike Grace, who got looked at and then put in the AG tote box.) It's probably my favorite thing that AG has made.
I agree Kit needs her coat, since it's so important to her story, but I was a little disappointed when ours came-for the price, and since it's only 1 piece, I had expected it to be lined, or a little thicker material. The Christmas outfit and school outfits are better buys for only 2.00 more, since they come with shoes, socks and hair accessories. For the future, the waffle iron kit is really well made and so cute, and again, has lots of play value.
I'm sure your daughter will be thrilled on Christmas morning to find all her great presents. My younger daughter is almost 12, and this is the first Christmas in years that the main focus of her presents isn't American Girl. She's getting some things, but not like in years past. It's kind of sad.
