Samantha

I have 2 Samantha's. One is from 2005. She has a body tag and black eyelashes. My other is from 1997 or 1998. She has no body tag and brown eyelashes. Her vinal is much softer too. I can press in on her feet, and her fingers are able to slightly bend. Is this a pre Mattell doll?? I have been letting my daughter play with the old one and keep the new one in the box. Maybe I should switch them around if the older doll is more valuable. What do you think?

Yes, she sounds like a PM girl! Whether you let your daughter have her or the Mattel one, that's completely up to you. I love my PM Samantha because her body is so soft and huggable, and the vinyl is much softer to hold, too. But if anything ever happens to your Mattel Samantha, you probably won't feel so bad sending her to the doll hospital. It's a hard choice, I know!!

I have a pre-Mattel Sam and I have to admit, I much prefer her to the newer ones. Mine has so much thick, curly brown hair my dad asked me once if it was real hair!

I agree with ksami; I'd feel better about sending a Mattel Sam to the hospital than an older one.

Thanks so much for your thoughts. My daughter has re-named Samantha "Jessica". I can't take away her little friend now. We'll just have to be careful with her.

The PM Samantha is definatly more valueble.I have a WB Sam,and I owuld be so upset if anything ever happened to her!
