I agree it's one of Weckl's top recorded performances. He plays technically, but loose...I have 2 versions BTW, an edited and un-edited.
whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa.
TWO versions?
Make it happen dude.
yeah.... like steve said.
WHOAAAA!!!
Mama Chola is Weckl?s best solo period!!! I can?t think of any other of his solos on record that can touch that one. It?s beyond special. I love how the whole solo is phrased from start to finish!!! Syncopation at it?s best!!!! There is no hand / foot crazy display of chops, just flat out brilliant phrasing. That is how all drummers should play a solo. Phrasing is a lost art in drumming now. Vinnie can phrase in a world that only he can. It?s always the begging of solos with Dave and Vin that are so interesting before they start blowing jizz all over their kits.
Great.
Where's the mp3s!?!?!?
I have a DJ version that has shorter songs, same ones, just edited down....so if you already have the regular release I dont think I have anything different...Love that cartoon artwork on the cover of that one!
I emailed you guys (Lee and Chris W) mp3's of the song, let me know if you got them. They're 12mb, so I'm hoping they weren't too big.

I would like to hear it, too!
