Hi Everyone. I bought the Copper model that TinaG was unable to transport when she won it on Ebay. I was actually one of the bidders for this stove, so it worked out well. The seller was wonderful to work with, and he and his wife were a great help in loading her into the trailer. TinaG has been a real sweetheart, and recent changes in her life have made this the best deal for everyone.
It looks like we have quite a bit of work to do to get the outside cleaned up. The top and the insides looks great, but the burners and the copper metal will take some work. Any advice would be appreciated. I could not find a tag on her anywhere, so we may not ever know what year she was made.
It looks like Mrs. Watts (our model A) will have a friend. We are going to get both of them running to decide which one will have a permanent place in the kitchen.

and I will keep it updated with the progress

Congrats on the purchase/rescue of Miss Penny ! That copper is truly exciting...cleaned up and restored, she will be amazing ! Your best bets for metal restoration would be from a local Historic Preservation group who can supply you with a list of trades. There are some amazing 21st Century sealants on the market that will withstand heat and require nothing more than a wipe down to keep clean. Copper finishes can range anywhere from matt to brilliant polish to verdigris in any degree you like. If I were putting a copper beauty into my home, it would be a brilliant finish from top to bottom. Is the griddle aluminum ???

Ok, TODD has put me on the spot. So her is my two cents worth (pun intended).
Congradulations - you got what I feel is a rare CHAMBERS. And she's in pretty good shape.
If you don't have the service manual then by all means get one. I would have been lost without it. Take photos if you think you need to but in my case I didn't but I'd look at someone elses photos in the forum that Tura has set up. I wasn't too concerned with where all the nuts and bolts went because I replaced most of them.
As far as the finish on your stove - I really don't know what to tell you. Be really careful there may be a very thin coat of copper that could be polished through. I'd try to clean the panels first with simple green or something similiar. Then I would try polishing in an inconspicous spot say down low on a panel about the size of a quarter. But you may just want to leave the finish as is - it adds character. By all means polish the chrome to a mirror finish.
It appears that the oven door may have been out of adjustment allowing for discoloration in the finish. That would be my biggest area of concern.
What kind of finish do you want? Personally I'd like her to shine like a new PENNY but was that the way they came from the factory?

Whatever you do, DO NOT USE ANY ABRASIVES ON THE COPPER ! Also, AMMONIA WILL DISSOLVE any protective coating that is on the copper. For cutting through years of grease and grime without damaging the finish, try Felsnaptha soap in very hot water applied and washed with a coarse cotton rag.

Hi Lori!
That's a LATER 61AC, because it has the Burner-With-A-Brain and the white dials.
You might check with ThemPikes - he knows a lot about these new finishes and be able to share insight about the copper parts.

Yes, the griddle is aluminum. Thanks for the suggestios on the copper finishing. I'm sure there has to be something in the Austin area, very artsy here.
Todd, what color were the earlier dials?

Be careful with your copper finish and be aware that the original copper finished was a "burnished" finish that was meant to look antique. There were not new penny shiny. My grandmother cleaned her copper stove (now mine) with dish soap or laundry detergent suds in warm to hot water. She said a scrubber would damage a protective finish that is over the copper.
