Thermowell

I am embarrassed to admit that we have never used our Thermowell. But that is about to change. I have the pots & the cookbook now, and hubby has lit the pilot. I have even bought the steel cut oats [img]smile.gif[/img] Here is my question - the t-well gets quite warm with the lid on (duh), are you supposed to keep the pilot light lit? Are only when you are using it?

Ours is always on....but in this climate, every little bit of kitchen warmth is greatly apprrciated.

Poor Asfan is way up North while we are here in Texas, were it's usually warmer. [img]cool.gif[/img]
I always thought my pilot on the T-well was "overly" warm. I finally glanced in there and took a look at the pilot flame and found it to be too big and too orange. I adjusted the pilot to a pretty blue just right flame. It has made a difference on the t-well cover temp and stovetop.

You do have a service manual for your model??? It's a very simple thing to adjust.

Has anyone put a "mini pilot" on?
