I bought 2 chambers stoves....one made it and one crashed and burned....thats another story. I really need help with the pot though. I tried to do a search and it kept coming up with a blank page, so I apologize if someone has already asked this. I have a large pot that fits in the thermowell and a lid...how does one lift it out when its full of stuff and hot?? It has 2 pieces of metal that flip over the top and hold that on...should I lift it out by the lid? Am I missing something here or a piece? I dont want to have an accident with a hot dinner or soup by trying to lift it out the wrong way. Thanks for any help!

Thats exactly what the pot looks like - I dont have any utensils like those. Do they ever come up on ebay? I've been cooking with the gas off (and love it) but only recently tried the pot and realized I had a problem....is there someone out there with extras??? Or a place to look? Thanks so much for the pictures. They really helped! Cant wait to hear! Thanks again.

I think quite a few people just use a mitt or potholder and pull it out carefully by hand. I think Ms. V mentioned using some variation on this method. My stove isn't working yet, but that's what I plan to do until I find a handle.

Maybe I'm off base, but I don't think that the handle was designed to be used in the way shown in the photographs above. This is based meerly on a hunch, and not on anything I've read in Chambers literature.
My understanding is that the handle is intended for the 2 quart tripots when their lids are not being used, by inserting the tongue up into their unique side slots. When their lids ARE being used and are snapped shut, the safest and easiest way to lift them is by the grab handle on the lid.
My opinion is that lifting out the 7qt. pot with a handle intended for a 2 quart vessel is not safe. I believe that a cloth potholder is safer than lifting it with the tripot handle.
This is strictly my opinion, and not based on anything that Chambers has published.

Thanks for all the great replies! As far as ebay goes, the saying we have is "there are no friends at an auction" Dont feel bad and I hope you win! That being said, I think I'm going to fill the pot with water and see how lifting it out with a pot holder feels. I'm a really short person and the stove is currently on big caster wheels, so its about 39" high....a little high for me to reach and get anything heavy out. If I can, great. I just wanted to know if there was a safer/better/easier way to get it in and out of the well. Thanks again!

Yes, good idea, practice with water over kitchen sink, transferring to counter etc. Get comfortable with the feel of the clips and how firmly they hold the lid down.
I have my stove on a stabilized piano dolly (for easy access) because I am tall. But when the pot is full it is heavy, you might consider a little step stool to get better leverage...V

I used a mitt until I found my Chambers pot handle. I do use it to lift the 7 qt. pot, but keep in mind, it's not fill up all the way with liquid. That would be too heavy and might damage the aluminum.
My general rule is if it's more than 3/4 filled up I use a kitchen mitt over the pot handle. Triple & double pots should not be a problem with the pot handle.
