Popular '60s Rocker Found Dead in Hotel

Pitney, 65, who gave a concert in Cardiff on Tuesday was in apparent good health so his death came as a shock to family and friends. While there is no immediate word on the cause of death, it appears to be from natural causes and not foul play. James Kelly, Pitney's tour manager, told The Associated Press that it looked like peaceful passing. "He was found fully clothed, on his back, as if he had gone for a lie down," Kelly told AP. "It looks as if there was no pain whatsoever."
What is the one song that changed the world?
Pitney's career spanned 40 years and included such hits as "It Hurts to Be in Love," "(The Man Who Shot) Liberty Valance," "Every Breath I Take," "Town Without Pity," "Only Love Can Break a Heart" and the operatic "I'm Gonna Be Strong." His last U.S. hit was "She's a Heartbreaker" in 1968. In addition, he wrote numerous songs for others, including the Crystals' No. 1 hit, "He's a Rebel," Rick Nelson's smash "Hello Mary Lou" and Bobby Vee's "Rubber Ball." In 2002 he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Pitney is survived by his wife, Lynne, and three sons, David, Todd and Chris.

Apparently it will take 3 days to make his coffin out of oak....
But only 24 Hours From Balsa
Apologies, I only heard it today.
Seriously though, it's a shame to see another of the old guard pass away.
Was listening to that tune he had a No.1 Hit with Marc Almond "Something's Gotten Hold Of My Heart".
Brought back a lot of cool memories! Was a cool song!
