Has anyone seen it yet? I have a buddy who's supposedly in it 3 times, but I still haven't seen it.
Is it any good?

Hi Chris,
I rented it last weekend. Awesome documentary. It's very sad to see someone who was an icon and is still very much reveared to have fallen so far down the ladder. It's amazing how the whole Meltdown festival appearance came to happen. Then for Kane to have his dream realized of reforming, only to die 22 days after their performance in London.
It's like it was meant to happen, to give the guy one last gift before he passed on.
Highly recommended.
Cheers,
Sandy
Thanks Sandy!
I've read some interview with Kane before so I had a feeling I'd like this movie.
I was also fortunate enough to see the first Meltdown show and he was cool as fuck.
Standing there as solid as the staute of liberty in a white pirate shirt and high pirate boots.
I'll go a head and order it just as soon as I get some more cash in:-)
Chris, you can also check out reviews on Amazon from other people. It gets really high marks.
Amazon.com NY Doll Reviews
Finally saw this last night. Excellent movie - even though you know how the story ends it still manages to take you up when Arthur's dream of a New York Dolls reunion comes true. They don't focus too much on the history of the Dolls which was probably the right thing to do - Arthur's story is strong enough to stand on its own two (stack-heeled) feet.
Buy it, rent it or steal it, but make sure you watch this film.
I have to agree with everything said, a great film that focuses just on Arthur and his dream coming true only for everything to end so very soon afterwards. Very well filmed and edited and just immensely sad. Anyone with a love of music, not just dolls fans, need to see this film. His love of music, especially his total and unwavering belief in the dolls, shines through. A wonderful documentary that unfortunately turned out to be a very fitting tribute.
Rented via Amazon - worthy of buying, I'd say! The real stars could possibly be the 2 old ladies who work with him in the Christian bookshop. I'm sure the one on right checks her watch when he's talking about his old days in the band.
Lovely bloke, slightly tragic.
Its a really good film....tugs the heart strings a bit
Not seen it but i'm gonna buy it soon.
