OK, I need honest opinions. I wanted to buy another Bitty Baby so I could make redheaded twins. So I found this auction:

She arrived today and she's not from Pleasant Company. She must be a Li'l Punkin. We *have* a Li'l Punkin (one was to be her twin) and I know all about these dolls but it never even occurred to me from the listing that this wasn't a Bitty Baby. I would like to return everything on the grounds that she/he misrepresented what was being sold. What do you think?
It actually doesn't say it's a Bitty Baby. Just that the stroller is, and that there's Bitty Bear, and the doll comes in a Bitty Baby outfit. It's very sneaky, but I don't think they technically lied.
Since you just want to rewig her, and considering she plus the stroller plus the outfit was less than a new Bitty, I'd just keep her. She looks slightly different from real Bitty, and perhaps your twins will look a bit cuter, as they can be told apart from one another [img]smile.gif[/img] .
The baby doesn't look much like Bitty to me (open mouth, and all), and I think she's cuter than Bitty. You'll have a set of twins that look like the actual Bitty Twins, one with an open mouth, and one with a closed.
I'm sorry, but the seller did not misrepresent the auction. They never said that the doll was Bitty. They said that it was a retired Pleasant Company Bitty Baby stroller with baby, not with Bitty Baby. Although they mention several Bitty Baby items in the auction, they never say that the doll is Bitty [img]frown.gif[/img] .

I want to be honest with you. There are really a lot of clear photos of everything. I did not see her say any where that the baby was a Bitty.I can totally see how it would be easy to assume she was, but no, honestly, I think the auction was pretty clear, taking the photos into consideration.
HOWEVER, Let me say, I do love Lil' Punkin dolls and I have one. That could help me spot one in the auction. Someone who did not have a Lil' Punkin might overlook her.
I am really sorry you are not happy. Maybe you should contact the seller anyhow. There are some really nice people on Ebay, maybe she will give you A refund.
I don't know - it says the baby is 15", aren't the Bitties 18"? While she doesn't say the baby ISN'T bitty baby, no where does it say the bitty IS bitty baby. I think that baby doll is darling - even if it isn't a bitty. And since the stroller and outfit are Pleasant company, I don't think you got ripped off. I just think that her auction falls in a gray zone of ethically correct.
It was a very tricky listing. [img]graemlins/thinking.gif[/img] Never did it say that the doll was a Bitty or even marked P.C., BUT it was sandwiched between two descriptions of items that WERE listed as Bitty & P.C. If I had not known, prior to reading the post, I think I would have assumed the doll was Bitty as well. Sorry it wasn't what you were expecting. [img]frown.gif[/img] She is a cute baby though.

If you had not posted this, and I just read the auction, I would think I was getting a Bitty Baby.
She never came out and said the doll was Bitty, but it was certainly inferred. The stroller is Pleasant Company, the bear is included, the dress is tagged........everything to infer that this is Bitty, except she never came right out and said that it was! I think she was very careful in her wording, on purpose. If it were me, I'd contact the seller and tell her how you feel. Be nice. That's gets you a lot*****her than if you're angry. She may let you return it all, without making a fuss. If not, I hope you paid by credit card through Paypal. That's your best recourse if you feel something has been misrepresented.

The seller never actually came out and said that the baby itself was a Bitty baby. Just the stroller and the clothes.
I'm sorry!!! Did you bid on it last second or on impulse?
If you look at the pictures you can tell it is not bitty [img]frown.gif[/img] . If you were bidding in a hurry or not paying attention, or spending time looking at all the pictures, I can see where you would have thought it was Bitty though.
She is a cutie however!!!! [img]smile.gif[/img]
If I had just looked at the auction briefly, I would have thought it was bitty. I hate having to look so closely at the auctions to make sure I'm not getting ripped off.
