Get this: I saw my neighbor Rose at Publix at lunch (she works there) and she told me she hoped I hadn't won HER jackpot last night and I told her no but I did get 4 numbers and nobody won, and she said good: her numbers came up last night and she didn't play! $38 million. I would be SICK. She is consoling herself with the theory there is no guarantee if she had played those numbers would have come up...But I would be deathly ill right about now if I were her. I told her she needs to change numbers she plays, those are not coming up again...

Well I wish she had won. That just sucks that she played those numbers for a long time and the one time she doesn't, she misses out on $38 million.

Yeah, but remember GL, it's only $19M after taxes, and when you think of it that way there's no reason to feel sick. It's not like she was out $38M after all....
And yes, good to hear from Lake in the house. If you've noticed, Lake tends to show up when the Buckeyes are playing for national championships.
Then after they lose, she's nowhere to be found until the next bowl season....

Actually Lew, in Florida if she had taken it all in one lump sum and she was the only winner she would have gotten just under $13 million. If you want the cash option they cut your share of the jackpot in half and then tax it at 25%. That roughly equals 1/3 of your share of the jackpot. Otherwise it would have been paid out after taxes at roughly just under $1 million/yr the next 30 yrs. Either way it would have been a very sweet win.
