Greetings,
I'm experimenting with a BSC circuit to tame my Great Plains 604 system, and was wondering, if I "shelve down" the system with this circuit by 3dB, does that mean the systems efficiency is reduced by 3dB, or is it some percentage of 3dB?

Yes, it's the price you pay to flatten the response.
Whether it's true baffle step, or mitigating the inherent rising (or falling) response of a driver to bring the system into balance, the SPL is gone.
With this comes the recognition that, by one view, it was "artificial" to begin with, in more practical terms....
