Hey to anyone that can help me with this.
A co-worker's daughter has to sing a song for a pagent type thing. I have the song she's gonna be singing, but I was looking or getting the know how...on removing vocals from an audio file...MP3?...or WAV?
Any help would help!
DON'T YA HAVE MARC AN STEREO PLAYER WITH KARAOKE OPTION??? IT'S WHAT I'VE DONE!!! I HAVE AN AIWA WITH THAT FEATURE THEN, JUST RECORDED THROUGH THE PC SOUND CARD AND THEN USE SOME AUDIO EDITOR (SOUND FORGE) TO GIVE THE FINAL TOUCHS!!! HOPE IT HELPS!!!
Might be able to dampen them with Audio Cleaning Lab. Do you have the MP3?

I tried a few vocal remover plugins....and it all was crap...haha
There's a few stand alone programs that'll do it, as well as the plug-in variety.
Vo-Gone springs to mind, I'll email it to ya as soon as I can find it.
Vocal eliminators work on the principle of removing the "dead-centre" of an audio track. Often the bass drum is affected by doing this too.
It's a bit of a hit n miss affair, as it all depends on how the song was recorded. If there's a lot of reverb on the song, quite often the vocal can be heard in the over-spill.
Songs from the 50s and 60's are nearly impossible as it's not uncommon for the vocals to be recorded left ot right of the centre.

there's a few VST plugins that'll do that... i cna't remember what they're called or where to find them.. but i've seen them.. wow... so helpful...
