Am i seeing things? PPL are actually predicting the Blue Knights to pull the upset? No offense to Coeburn, as they picked up a good win last week, and are trying to rebuild that program, but NO WAY. Even if Gate City in a down year for their standards, which I dont think they're as bad as some are hoping.... This game still wont be close.
I personally think it may turn out to be a decent game if Coeburn comes out and plays 100%. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure that Gate City is expected to blow the Blue Knights away, but at the same time, Gate City is coming off of a tough loss, while Coeburn is coming off of a big win.
Sure, it was the same way last year, but I believe that Gate City is a bit down this year in terms of the players they have - even if Tyler Parks is still present.
Predicted as a blowout or not, I'm still going to come and see what each team can do.
Everyone was ready to bury GC last year after their loss to Richlands, but they went on to have a pretty good season. I hope that is the case this time too. Having not seen either team play, I won't make any predictions. GO BLUE DEVILS!
GC by 30 pts...easy.
IMO GC did alot of growing up last week. I walked away feeling better than going. I expected GC to fold but to my surprise they step up their play and their were some real hard hitting. Richlands out matched GC no doubt. I feel GC will get better and better as the season progresses. Mike thier heart is there, the size & talent is there but how we learn to play as a team and Coach C play book, well the season just started so I guess we all will have to wait and see.
I believe gate city wins but coeburn will hang with them!

i thinks its asking alot of coeburn to contain both parks and anderson.....we all knew what to expect from parks but anderson's elusiveness really gives gate city a dual threat.....as bad as the devils put it on coeburn last year i have a hard time believing that coeburn has improved enough to keep this game close.......

Actually wematch up fairly well size wise to GC, they are not loaded with alot of big kids this year.
