I hate MSN messenger too.

Oh I rather like MSN... a lot in fact .... Yahoo a close second and AIM last..... ICQ is crap .... by telephone is lower then that.... I only email..... LOL or Voice chat....

I wish there were a way to chat so the connection would stay open and you could interrupt folks, like on the phone.

I prefer icq because it's best at managing good groups, so that one is a big plus, next comes yahoo messenger, because it has that many kick-ass features (cam, mike, chatrooms, all integrated into one product), followed by msn, which tries to be like yahoo messenger but just isn't.

back in our nerdier (uh huh) days ek3 and i used icq a lot.

i always liked it well enough. not enough to use it again, though.

Well, you know how chat programs only allow one person to speak at a time. But, on the phone, you can interuppt each other, make funny noises while someone is talking, and laugh together.
