Funny!
"Like a lot of folks in this state I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test, with which I have no problem.
What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them??
Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do on the other hand have a problem with helping someone sitting on their [censored]. Could you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check?????

Re: Funny!
Good, sound logic. I feel the same. In 8 years with the D.O.C, I have been tested 4 times. Now I grant you, I am glad for the safeguard measures, but especially with me, every time my name has popped up to go, our H.R.O always rolls her eyes and says "What a waste of money". Spend that money on sorry-[censored] checkriders.

Re: Funny!
I guess this is the luxury we get for being the "best" nation in the world, huh? There are alot of legitimate people that get a check per month. Also just because someone smokes a little dope doesnt mean they are worthless. Just look at our government officials.

Re: Funny!
I would like to add, for all the non-legit (i.e. just plain lazy) aid collectors:
You're Welcome.
You're welcome for your free BP meds, your free Cholesterol meds, your gastric bypass surgeries (perhaps if you were working you wouldn't be in that boat), your free ER visits.
As I sit here with an ear and throat infection, and can't go to the Dr at this moment in time because I've not met my deductible (and probably wont this year), I'm glad you can go to the ER because your narcotics ran out, or you think you might have a fever, or just because you want a place where you can get a lunch tray, free drinks, soft pillows, and someone to wipe your [censored].
You're Welcome.

Re: Funny!
Don't thank them. Thank your great country and government.

I feel you on that, when I was sick two weeks ago with a fever of 104, I couldn't go to the dr. b/c I have no insurance and don't qualify for govt assistance. I love working part time, you know that right?

Re: Funny!
I'm not 100% sure VA has stopped reimbursing Medicaid recipients for Viagra yet. (They have for sex offenders but I don't know about others.)

Re: Funny!
Heaven forbid someone work to better themselves so they don't become a (lazy kind of) aid recipient in the future.
And I work three jobs - one of them is in a hospital and can't go.
Oh why bother complaining - those on "the draw" think it's funny.
At least I can take some pride in being able to provide for myself. Pay my own housing, buy my own food, pay my own insurance, etc. with money I earned the honest way. I'd like a little better for myself, compared to what "those" people want out of life.

Re: Funny!
I love that part. Our system will give a man a recreational drug, so to speak, but the woman that works for a living cannot get birth control without paying a small fortune for it.
