The Pats

The Pats seem to be a team of greatness, of destiny even. Does the fact that they were caught cheating influence your opinion of them in any way, or has our lax morals of today's society caused you to brush it aside as inconsequential?
I think they could/would have won without what was going on, but every game they're in I find myself wondering where the camera is that's stealing the other team's signals.... [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif[/img]

all teams try to watch the other sideline for an upperhand. coaches cover their mouths when calling a play for a reason.

the only reason people "hate" the Pats is because they have won too much at one time. happens with every team. you win a lot and you have a lot of people jump on the "hate" banwagon.

Pats are one of the greatest teams the NFL has ever seen.

Watching the sidelines and trying to pick up signals is one thing, video taping signals for a half, then going in and putting them on a dvd so your team can learn what they're doing is something else.

Exactly. Usually the only ones defending the Pats are their fans. If my team (Cowboys) were caught doing it, I'd be very disappointed and call for heads to roll instead of making the excuse that "everyone does it".

I'm a Steelers fan but the whole "spy gate" thing has become way blown up in my opinion. they got caught, they payed the price and then they rolled through the regular season.

bullcrap.....cheating is cheating.....how in the world can you condone that???

I'm also not a Pats fan, but I do agree that it's been blown out of proportion. At the same time however, I think lots of people don't just blow it off as inconsequential, myself included. I feel like lots of people just don't care because it happened and there's nothing we can do about it. So why even think about it? It's out of our hands so IMO it seems to be a waste of time and mental energy to continue pondering it. Whether I agree or not, what's happened has happened and there's no changing it.

I think alot of sportsfans including myself enjoy seeing the impossible or history being made. I dont think that the Patriot "haters" hate them because their great. I believe that sports fans like to see the good guys win. Nobody except for Giant fans wanted Barry Bonds to break Aarons record. But I think everybody would have liked to have seen Dale Murphy, Griffey Jr, or the like surpass the record. Bellacheat has acted like he is the victim and the world is out to get him because they were caught cheating. I personally dont want the Patriots to win, because I dont want him to win. As much as I would like to see Jason Witten and Julius Jones in the Super Bowl, I equally would hate to see T.O. and Jerry Jones in the Super Bowl. Anyway, its probably going to be the Cowboys and the Pats in the Super Bowl, and that will be a good day to go throw the float-n-fly at South Holston.

I agree with that part of your post. I hate to see those who win with questionable methods.
