Pete Carroll is NOT an NFL caliber HC....he's been there before...and he sucked.
And they would be wasting their time. Carroll has weathered the NFL storm. He won't be back. He's lord and master of the college football world in LA, thanks to both his coaching skills and a healthy dose of media love.
The Falcons would have to pay him $15 million a year and give him a 40% stake in the team.
He would be stupid to do so. But the money is hard to pass up.
Plus NEVER overlook EGO he is a Great collage coach BUT untill he can do it in the NFL he will never be considered ICON now may be he best chance Atlanta was a bad team last season but much of that was due to loseing there top 2 QBs and haveing a coach that IMHO was ready to pack his bags right after Vick got into his troubles

I don't exactly agree with this, all you have to do is look at Bear Bryant, General Neyland, Bo Schembechler and Woody Hayes. None of which went to the NFL but are still icon's in coaching.
Pete Carroll knows he doesn't have to go to the NFL to prove anything. I don't see him leaving LA and everything he has there to go to ATL.
He's already proven he wasn't much of a head coach in the NFL...his teams were mismanaged and sorry...

Honistly Bryant and Hayes are the only 2 ICONS there and while USC is on a heck of a run there is no way that they pick up the number of titals that Bryant or Hayes were able to do.
I am not sure that Carroll leaves USC for Atlanta but if the right job opened up I bet he would bases on wanting to be remembered as a Great Coach and not just a Great Collage Coach
id be floored if he left SC
mike and mike said this morning that daniel snyder may consider offering a huge amount of money to coach the dedskins.
