You have to go to the first link (IGN) and see the video to truly understand what separates this one from the original. The ragdoll physics are just awesome! When you shoot guys or kill them with grenades, they actually go flying.

Even your "bionic" arm can make use of these physics by allowing you to pick up objects that were once only static (such as barrels) and throw them at enemies! You can even grab enemies themselves and throw them through the air or into other enemies. It's as if they've taken oldschool platform elements and combined them with new technologies to create something that is simply badass.

There will also be co-op play, meaning you can have two players at the same time just like the old arcade games, etc. they used to make. You don't see co-op much anymore so I'm glad to see they've included it.

This game should be a great update on a classic. Judging by the video footage, I simply can't see how they could go wrong. It already looks like something I'm willing to pay money for. Best of all, it will be up on XBL Arcade meaning it likely won't be a full-priced game.

I'm also happy that they've kept the same environments, characters, etc. rather than trying to go too far and redesign everything.

For anyone who is interested, there is also another Bionic Commando game in the works which will be an entirely 3D action game (not side-scrolling) on next-gen platforms as well. The character looks different in the game so it's not entirely the same as the old one, but it looks amazing as well.

I think that both titles will certainly please oldschool fans. I, for one, can't wait. But I must admit: I'm looking forward moreso to this remake!

i bought bionic commando in the 4th grade. i loved it then and i love it now.

I really miss the side scrolling games. The original Contra was the best. Mario also ranks up there with the best of all time side scrollers.
