Running a zone

How dumb would it be for Maryland to run a zone against Duke Wednesday Night? I know it sounds retarded but it would prevent the dribble drive and kick that Duke gets a ton of the threes off of. It would at least force them to make contested shots, and not give them wide open looks. It would also slow the game down and get into more of a half court game, which favors Maryland in my opinon. I'm completley shocked that I'm going to even be interested in this game, 30 days ago I would've took a NIT bid for Maryland. Today I think they have a legit shot at finishing third in the ACC.

I think that plays right into Duke's hands personally, they'd just go with a lineup of Paulus, Scheyer, Singler, King and Thomas and shoot the lights out, 4 shooters is tough for a zone to cover

if you're gonna beat Duke you have to do it in transition and minimize turnovers

Yea, it could be really dangerous. I really believe if Maryland has less than 15 turnovers they will win. They just killed themselves in the second half in the first meeting with turnovers in the second half. Did you go to the VT game today? It wasn't on TV so I didn't see it but was shocked to hear they lost to Miami. I was really thinking they would be the 5th ACC Team to get in, that loss today hurts big time.

I did go...it was all I had to not get on here and complain about the reffing...I don't like to do the cliche "the refs jobbed us"...but today, i just don't know how it could be anything else...we had Ted Valentine

Yea, one of my good friends who is a big VT fan said they got robbed as well. He also mentioned Teddy V.
