is anyone else eat up with these things this year? I've lived in this house for 8 years and never seen one. They're every damn where this year. I've got them in my bedroom, the bathroom, the kitchen. I never leave food out, I've put out traps, I've used spray, but I can't shake the bastards. I hate the freaking things and am not fond of bugs anyway. Any suggestions?

I've stepped on, smashed with my hands, wipped away with wet paper towels, washed down the drain, God knows what else. I need something to thin the herd a little faster and better.
A little liquid that I always use to buy at Walmart or Lowes,, called TERRO.. they eat/drink it and take the results back to their home base and in a few days,, NO MORE ANTS...
I need some of that. Haven't seen it in years though. I've bought traps that they're supposed to go into eat the poison and take back to there nests. I think they're using the traps as night clubs and then going back and breeding. Since I put them out, it seems like they've increased 10 fold.
Try some of the liquid traps, those work the best. I had some really bad ants earlier on in the year. also buy some spray and spray all around your windows and doors on the outside to create a barrier.
If that doesn't work, then I would suggest calling a pest control co and have them come and spray. Usually costs about $100-$150 twice a year and it works on all kinds of bugs, spiders, and ants.
They're so bad this year - home, work, everywhere.
Terro is about the only thing that works for us (WalMart has it - haven't looked for it at Lowes this year).
We got the Raid liquid traps - apparently they thought we installed a pool/spa for them and lived the good life off it.
I got the inside Terro and the outside Terro - still a work in progress but at least we're not losing the battle.
I've heard good things about Terro, I need to see if I can find some.
