I'd go with Batman, The Punisher, or Captain America.
Captain America being the only one with actual super-human powers.
Anybody can be Batman, just give them all the toys and a utility belt. And it was Superman who gave Batman the tool to stop him...Kryptonite, in case he ever went berserk or such and couldn't be stopped by any other means.
Superman was, is, and will always be the greatest ever. But my favorite is the Silver Surfer.
Its a close tie between superman and spiderman for me
I'm just throwing this out there too.. but I like Gambit from X-Men, I know he wasn't a super hero, but still flippin' amazing..
He's in the new X-Men Origins- Wolverine film.
Since he doesn't have super powers Id say that makes Batman the top one. It would take a lot of courage to do what he does knowing that he could easily be defeated or even killed. Not just anyone with money and power would have the balls to stand up and make a change such as Batman. He's the most realistic of all and bravest of all.
And besides, Batman has the best villains....hands down. Iconic.
