It looks as if DirecTV is starting to now get the local HD channels for us. They now show them on the guide but only 11 is working as of now, and when I went to their webpage they show 11 as the only one working right now so hopefully in the next couple of weeks we will get the rest. FINALLY
Hopefully DISH won't be far behind either.
Dish wont have local channels available in SWVA for awhile.
Not surprised. The last word I heard from an engineer friend at WKPT was that DISH was estimating early 2009.

WCYB - 5 (NBC)
WJHL - 11 (CBS)
WKPT - 19 (ABC)
WSAZ - 3 (NBC)
WYMT - 57 (CBS)
... and a bunch of PBS/KET channels I don't watch.
One good thing about OTA is that the signals aren't compressed so you get a better picture.
I noticed this last night as well UTVols. Just in time for this afternoons game too!

for those with HD, a NY HD affiliate is available to all customers who don't have local HD channels. you may have to contact Directv to activate them free of charge. they will be on channels 80,82,86,88 or 390,392,396, and 398.
I have those, well, all but CBS since WJHL wanted to block it.
