the Pittsburgh Steelers of the last 3 years are so much like the 80's Dolphins. The huge difference is that Ben has a "D" to lean on. The O-line's are built the same way. Very good pass blocking but can't move anyone out of the way when it comes to run blocking. When you have to line up Shotgun on 3rd & 1 that tells you a lot. The receiving corp is not the greatest. They don't have anyone that is a star at the WR postion. a lot of blue collar guys that put it on the line. bigest difference is that the Steelers can win a 3-0 game when the O is having an off night and Marino didn't have many of those.

I know they won and thats great and all but if they can't get any kind of running game going it's going to be a tough year!

Oh, but the Steelers won on a great defense and Ben throwing the ball. The first SB it was Willie Parker and Randel El but Ben was great for that playoff run. The 2nd SB was Ben and a great D. how may times were the steelers O-line just pounded, riddiculed and made fun of because the steelers couldn't run the ball over the last 2 or 3 years. The running game in Pittsburgh is not what it use to be. Parker is a speed guy, not a pound it off tackle guy. with Mendanhal healthy maybe we will get back to a solid running game. It was passing at the right time and when it counted. we couldn't count in rushing and and getting a 3rd & 2.

2008 rushing stats are not pretty.
we ranked 9th in attempts but ranked 23 in yards.

we ranked 29 in yards per attempt.

we were held under 100 yards rushing in 10 games last year.

we were held under 70 yards rushing 6 times.

I'm going against what you're saying about "blue-collared" wr's. They have 1 of the best receiving corp sin the NFL, and I hate to admit that.
I would take Ward, Miller, and Holmes any day of the week.

They may be one of the best corps but they are still blue collar. there isn't a superstar at wideout. No Fitzgerald, no Calvin Johnoson, no Moss type of guys, just nose to the grindstone players that do more with heart and gritt than most. Sure there is tallent or Ward wouldn't be the all time leading "everything" in the WR catagory for the steelers but there is no superstar WR on the team. I think Boldin from AZ fits into this category. He is not a true #1 guy if he went elsewhere.
