MECC should start athletic programs. Seems like other Virginia community colleges have.
Southwest CC has basketball Eagles Home and it appears Va Highlands does as they are on SWCC's schedule. Can't find anything on VHCC's website though other than the fact that they have held voting for a mascot.
For MECC, I like Blue Devils, Mountaineers,, Cougars, Bears, Pirates.

Yeah with no admission standards MECC would be able to get anyone in to play basketball for them...
Do they have a gym at SWCC for them to play in?
Wytheville CC has sports teams too don't they?
This all sounds fine and good until MECC would have to pass a student activity fee to pay for athletic programs. It'd come close to being at least one third of tuition cost if comparable to fees at other colleges..and destroy the affordibility of the college
