Congrats to PV on a great sports year. You'll not hear me complaining too much though. As 'ol Dobber kept screaming "THEY'RE JUST SOPHOMORES!!!!!" all evening,I couldn't help but laugh a bit. He is exactly right. We don't have too many years when we don't rule the LPD on the diamond,so we can't begrudge tonight too much, but there's not a person on here who would be willing to bet that the Indians wont be back to terrorizing the LPD (and the state for that matter) on the diamond next year (and the year after...etc). A good example was tonight. The difference between the first game this year and tonight was stark. We'll grow up a bit more and be loaded to bear. Not too many teams can have 6 out of 9 starters as sophs and be 14-3 (most would settle for .500) As for the other sports this year coming up,don't look for PV to repeat the feat. Clintwood will be the team to beat on the gridiron no doubt. Again, congrats Vikings on a great sports year.
Nice to see ya last night, Joe.
Congrats to PV on the baseball win last night, they executed well and played solid baseball. I'm proud of the young Indians for their performance, and even in their youth, they had opportunities to win the game and didn't execute at key moments. If the Indians progress as they should they will return to diamond dominance soon, and could play "spoiler" in the upcoming tournaments. As for their youth, the entire pitching staff are sophomores and have thrown well all season. Sophomore Indians have accounted for all of the team's 12 HR's with the sophomore first baseman leading the LPD with 7 HR's and is hitting near .600 on the season. Others should relish in the moment for it appears the day is soon approaching when everyone will again be playing for 2nd place in the LPD in baseball.
JJK will have better hitting next year, you could argue that PV will have the two best pitchers in the LPD next year though. It wont be a walk in the park.
I'll take the two Baker brothers over both of them. Combined 7-0 this year to this point with 3 saves, the pair have 75 strikeouts in 54 innings. Kunce/Couch are 0-2 against PV and until somebody beats Jug he's the best pitcher in the LPD.
We'll certainly see about that next year no doubt:2thumbsup: Kunce may very well have been 1-0 vs PV had the young infield not blown up on him yesterday, and you know that. Jug will lose his best pitcher in the LPD label when we get him next year. Friendly wager next year on it? I love Mexican food btw;)
To far off, we'll see when we get there. FWIW, I think Ryan Baker is a better pitcher than Nathan Baker. Ryan just needs to develop better control, stuff wise I'll take Ryan. It's not we didn't give you all some runs also. You guys are due for some luck against us next year (all sports included). The only sport you even won a game against us in is girls basketball. (out of the big six sports)
