High quality long lasting knives do not come cheap!
Around here probably one of the closer places to buy better quality knives (read: not walmart or kmart) would be Bed Bath & Beyond. Kohls carries some food network branded knives. If there's a kitchen supply store around here it's slipping my memory.

IMO the best knives are sharp and not sticking in me anywhere or used to mutilate my flesh. ;)
How many people know of the Rada knives?
I do. Rada does a very good job for their price. I saw the gold mine of Rada knives today at a flea market.
anything ceramic................ love ceramic knives. what exactly are you looking for just all purpose knives or what? this is a very broad topic.
Actually I was wanting to know what I was getting into, I am going to start selling Rada knives and was seeing if really anyone had heard about them and whether it was a good investment to get into. Sorry for the confusion, its been a rough couple of weeks LOL!
Those Rada knives are some of the worst I've ever used. That's all mom had when I was growing up, didn't really know any better. As I've purchased better knives, I've realized just how bad those Rada knives are.
They won't take an edge and the handles are ergonomically inferior.
As for quality, the Chicago Cutlery available at Walmart isn't a bad knife for the money. I've got more expensive knives, but I keep coming back to the CC. The Food Network branded knives at Kohl's aren't that great. Purchased two FN santoku-style about a year ago. One of the blades developed a crack after three months of sparing use.
We have a set of the Gerber kitchen collection, steak knives, pearing, butcher, and slicing knives and meat cleaver. Paid a pretty big price for them and they have been well worth what we paid for them. Excellent quality.
