Mel Gibson in The Hangover 2?
Mike Tyson's cameo in "The Hangover" was so funny and bizarre that you could almost forget that he served three years in federal prison. (Almost.) The next recipient of "The Hangover" Image Rehabilitation Act is, perhaps inevitably, Mel Gibson.
Page Six reported this morning that Gibson will cameo on "The Hangover 2" as a tattoo artist. (MTV News confirmed it this afternoon.) It will likely be Gibson's first onscreen role since his infamous scandal involving his terrifying and graphically violent audiotaped rants against his ex-wife back in July. (His starring role in the Jodie Foster-directed "The Beaver," about a mentally disturbed man who communicates with the world solely through a hand puppet, was indefinitely shelved in the wake of the leaked tapes.)

Originally, "Hangover" director Todd Phillips wanted to cast fellow fallen idol Tiger Woods in the sequel, claiming, "We are going to try and get Tiger Woods for the second one ... help him regain his image." He appears to have settled on Gibson, who will supposedly play a tattoo artist that may or may not be the actual Mel Gibson. Last week, actress Sasha Barrese told E! Online that the sequel would have "the best cameo you've ever seen in your entire life," and it's clear she was talking about Gibson. The film takes place in Thailand, but Gibson, according to Page Six, will film on a soundstage in Los Angeles.

It's conceivable that not all of Gibson's co-stars will be ecstatic to work with him. Earlier this month on a comedy podcast, Zach Galifianakis, "The Hangover" breakout star, said he had turned down several offers on moral grounds and then hinted darkly at an issue with a movie he's currently filming. It seems possible he was talking about "The Hangover 2," saying, "I'm in a deep protest right now with a movie I'm working on, up in arms about something. But I can't get the guys to [listen]. ... I'm not making any leeway. ... It has something to do with a movie I'm working on, yeah. I'll tell you about it later. It's very frustrating." If there's an actor on earth whom someone might have moral issues about working with, it'd be Gibson.

Looks like the douche can't even get a cameo anymore, his career is over, there's no coming back from this.
Mel Gibson in "The Hangover 2"? Not anymore, says director Todd Phillips.
Though the troubled 54-year-old actor had been confirmed to do a cameo as a Bangkok tattoo artist in the follow-up to the 2009 hit comedy, he has now been cut from the film.
?I thought Mel would have been great in the movie and I had the full backing of Jeff Robinov and his team," Phillips told CNN in a statement. "But I realize filmmaking is a collaborative effort, and this decision ultimately did not have the full support of my entire cast and crew.?
Phillips didn't specify who wasn't on board with Gibson joining the cast, but some are speculating that it might have been actor Zach Galifianakis, who alluded to problems on the set during a podcast earlier this month, reports New York magazine's Vulture.
"I'm in a deep protest right now with a movie I'm working on, up in arms about something. But I can't get the guys to [listen] ... I'm not making any leeway," he said. "I'll tell you about it later. It's very frustrating."
Update, 5:30 p.m.: It looks like Liam Neeson may be taking Mel Gibson's spot. The actor's rep tells CNN that reports of Neeson joining the "Hangover 2" cast as a tattoo artist are true "pending clearance of cast and crew background check

Well someone on the news put it something like this. A drunk ******* cant get in a movie. But convicted rapist can?
Or it was something along those lines.
Re: Mel Gibson in The Hangover 2?
Who are all of these convicted rapists?
Re: Mel Gibson in The Hangover 2?
I guess he is referring to Tyson being in the first Hangover.
Re: Mel Gibson in The Hangover 2?
True. I'm not saying its okay, but it was 20 years ago wasn't it? I mean it's not as fresh in peoples minds like Mels ordeal is, so the audience didn't care as much. No rift with the cast either. Mel was just as bad as anything tyson did also.
